Tylaska
Tylaska Marine and Aerospace Hardware, from Mystic, Connecticut, designs and makes trigger snap shackles and other sailing hardware.
The Tylaska selection here includes:
- T5 and T8 snap shackles for boats of about 20-30 ft and 24-36 ft
- T12 and T16 snap shackles for boats of about 30-45 ft and 40-50 ft
- A knurled hand fid machined from solid 6061-T6 aluminium, tapered to open Tylaska and most other snap shackles
Each shackle is cast in mirror-polished 17-4 PH stainless steel, hot isostatic pressed like aerospace parts and proof-loaded to its working load. The trigger opens reliably under low loads yet resists accidental release from vibration or shock, and the shape slides past stays without snagging. Not for lifting.
