Forespar
Threads that seize in salt water turn simple jobs into long ones. LanoCote from Forespar is a lanolin-based grease, made from sheep's wool, applied during assembly so fittings can still be taken apart years later.
Spots that benefit, such as:
- Rigging screws, shackles and anchor connectors
- Stainless fittings on aluminium masts or booms
- Swivels, snap shackles, valves and hinges
- Anchor rollers and other moving fittings
It displaces water, forms a moisture barrier, penetrates and lubricates, and keeps protecting even when submerged in sea water. Between dissimilar metals it helps prevent galvanic corrosion, and a thin film still protects when you can no longer see it. Natural and non-toxic, it comes in a 4 oz (114 g) container.
