PELA has made manual vacuum oil extractors since 1996, when its original pump, the Big PELA 650, went into production.
The extractor is offered in sizes such as:
- PL-2000 with a 2.5 litre container
- PL-400 with a 4 litre container
- PL-650, the Big PELA, with 6.5 litres and a float switch that stops extraction when it is full
- PL-14K with 14 litres and the pump housed inside the container, suited to large diesels and twin engines
- Probes of 5 mm and 6.35 mm
The oil comes up the dipstick tube into a calibrated, see-through container, so there is no drain plug to reach in a cramped engine bay.
