Chafe Pro
Chafe-Pro is a family business from North Carolina. Gail and Capt. Edward Ratigan came up with the wrap-around line protector in 1991 and patented its hook-and-loop closing in 1995. Their son Michael runs the company today, and every product is still made in the state.
Chafe-Pro protection for lines and decks takes in items like:
- Yacht Series line protectors that wrap around the line without removing it
- The heavy-duty nylon sleeve for lines up to 42 mm
- The Wooly, which stops fenders and dock lines scuffing gelcoat
- Deck-Pro, a chain cover that keeps the anchor chain from scarring the deck while under sail
Unlike PVC tube, the protectors don't slip along the line, and they can be adjusted and reused.
