Gleistein
Gleistein has been making rope in Bremen since 1824, when Captain Gleistein set up a rope-making factory in Vegesack. Two hundred years and eight generations later, the family business is a leading fibre rope manufacturer, testing its ropes in its own DNV-accredited laboratory and still splicing rope ends by hand. Recycled and bio-based materials, including used PET bottles, increasingly go into its ropes.
You will find Gleistein in several parts of the store:
- Gleistein sailing ropes, including DynaOne, MegaTwin, TaperTwin, Gemini X and Cup polyester, plus whipping twine
- Mooring lines and docklines such as Tasmania and GeoTwin
- Soft blocks and rings, including the GeoLink soft shackle
- Endless furling lines spliced to order
New Gleistein ropes are added to the range regularly.
