Wichard
Wichard has been forging stainless steel in Thiers, France, since 1919. In the early 1970s it developed its first boat fittings with sailors such as Moitessier, Tabarly and Alain Colas, and it still forges its fittings in Thiers, mainly in 316L, 17-4PH and Duplex stainless steel. Forging gives a fitting better strength, fatigue resistance and corrosion resistance.
Our Wichard selection covers:
- Wichard shackles, snap shackles and hooks
- Backstay and babystay tensioners
- Padeyes, U-bolts and fasteners
- Soft blocks and low-friction rings such as MXLEvo and FRX
- Anchor connectors and chain hooks
- Jacklines, lifelines and tethers
- Profurl fairleads, the GybEasy boom brake and sailing knives
Other Wichard fittings will join these as we expand the range.
