Unimer
In a harbour swell, a boat snatching at its lines strains cleats, fairleads and rope. Unimer, a Swedish maker of rubber and plastic mooring products, designs compensators that damp those shock loads.
Compensators in stock include:
- Unimer Mooring Compensator with a wedge-shaped lock that stops the line slipping
- Self-locking black polyamide inserts that prevent chafe on the line, in four sizes for 10-24 mm lines
- U-Cleat Mooring Compensator in EPDM rubber with glass-fibre reinforced polyamide inserts, in three sizes for 10-20 mm lines
- A removable lock on the U-Cleat, so it fits lines with an eye splice or thimble at each end
U-Cleat can also be moved along a line or switched to another one, so it does not have to stay behind at the home berth.
