D-Splicer
As rope fibres have developed, splicing them has called for new tools, and D-Splicer from Amsterdam makes them for sailors and riggers. Its pulling needles work alongside conventional fids rather than replacing them: the double needle clamps the line so it pulls through easily, which helps most with thinner ropes and where space is tight. The range also covers the cutting and finishing tools that go with a splice.
D-Splicer tools in the shop include:
- Splicing needles and splicing sets
- A Dyneema fid
- Scissors and a ceramic knife
- A splicing palm and whipping twine
Expect the D-Splicer range here to widen.
