The WMarine10 from Western CO. is a 10 A MPPT charge controller with a buck-boost stage, so it can keep charging even when a panel's voltage is lower than the battery's.
Load programmes cover cases such as:
- Output on only at night
- Output on only during the day
- Output on for a set number of hours
- 18 programmes, with the panel acting as a day/night sensor
It detects 12 or 24 V systems automatically, accepts panels from 5 to 40 V Voc, up to 120 W at 12 V or 220 W at 24 V, and suits AGM, GEL and lead-acid batteries. An LCD shows status, solar output, battery voltage and energy used, and a battery temperature sensor is included, along with protection against reverse polarity, overheating and output overload.
