Harken
Harken's story began when a handful of plastic ball bearings bounced off a workbench in Wisconsin. Peter Harken fitted them into the blocks on his own boats, and with his brother Olaf he turned those low-friction blocks into a business. Harken is now 100% employee-owned, distributes in 48 countries and makes its gear in its own facilities in the USA and Italy, with blocks, travellers, winches and hydraulics for everything from small dinghies to the largest megayachts.
