B&G
B&G builds sailing electronics, and AIS is part of that picture. Its NSPL-500 antenna splitter lets one existing VHF antenna serve a VHF radio and an AIS unit at the same time.
What the splitter can connect, for example:
- AIS receivers and Class B transponders
- A VHF radio sharing the same antenna
- An onboard FM radio, through its own FM connector
- 12 or 24 V DC systems, from 9.6 to 31.2 V
Installation is simple: connect the existing VHF antenna cable to the NSPL-500, then the VHF and the AIS with the cables supplied. It weighs 260 g, is waterproof to IPX7 and works with the NAIS 500 as well as AIS units from other makers. It must not be used with Class A transponders.
