Clamcleat
Clamcleat traces its idea to 1963 and a light pull-cord knob that came off. The result was a cleat with angled ridges and no moving parts that grips harder as the load rises.
Sized by line diameter, the cleats here include:
- CL201 in nylon for 6-12 mm line, the design the company started with
- CL228 in nylon with an integral fairlead, also for 6-12 mm
- CL211 MK1 in alloy for 3-6 mm, with a concave base for masts and spars, in silver or black hard-anodised
- CL219 in alloy for lines up to 12 mm
- CL205 Major in nylon and CL220 in alloy, both for 10-16 mm
Alloy versions followed in 1972 for racing, and the cleats are still made at the company's own factory in England.
