The Seldén Code Zero 2:1 Dead End Fitting is a specialized mast-mounted bracket designed for 2:1 purchase halyard systems on Code Zero or asymmetric downwind sails with Seldén furlers (such as CX series).
This dead-end fitting provides a secure, low-friction anchor point inside the mast for the "dead" end of the halyard. By fixing the halyard here and running it through a block on the sail's halyard swivel, you create a 2:1 mechanical advantage. This setup delivers the high luff tension needed for optimal Code Zero performance while significantly reducing loads on winches, clutches, halyard exit boxes, and masthead sheaves—making hoisting and tensioning easier and safer, especially on larger boats.
