Meeting the demands of both commercial mariners and yachtsman, whether coastal cruising or on an offshore passage, the new McMurdo E5 SMARTFIND EPIRB and the G5 SMARTFIND PLUS GPS EPIRB are the next generation in EPIRB technology. Featuring the Carry Safe Manual Bracket the unit can be bulkhead mounted and easily removed for transportation without the fear of activation even when in a wet kit bag. In an emergency situation the unit is removed from the bracket by pulling a pin and can then be activated automatically by immersion in water, or manually by following the activation instructions printed on the unit. The E5 and G5 are 406 MHz EPIRB designed to operate with the COSPAS-SARSAT international search and rescue system. Available in the E5 SMARTFIND standard version and the G5 SMARTFIND PLUS GPS version featuring a 12 channel built in GPS receiver for precision positioning within minutes anywhere in the world.
