3M Dual Lock Fasteners consist of three types of continuous plastic strip (Type 170, 250 or 400) with mushroom shaped stems. They are designed to engage with one another to provide a secure fastener up to 5 times stronger than Velcro, capable of replacing mechanical fasteners. Can also be stapled to wood and sewn into canvas. Used to fix many items aboard without the need to screw into bulkheads or gel coat.
3M Dual Lock Type 250 has approximately 38 stems/cm2. Designed for mating with itself (Type 250 to Type 250) providing similar strength to a Type 400 to Type 170 combination. It has the advantage of requiring only one type of Dual Lock as it bonds to itself.
3M Dual Lock Type 400 has a dense stem pattern of approximately 62 stems/cm2. Designed for mating with Dual Lock Type 170, the combination provides the most universal fastener in the Dual Lock System. It locks together in any position and is generally the best choice for joining two surfaces when using the Pressure-Sensitive Dual Lock products.
3M Dual Lock Type 170 has approximately 26 stems/cm2. Besides general use with Dual Lock Type 400, it can also be mated with Scotchmate Loop (velcro) products to provide an exceptional high strength fastener but with a limited reclosure life.
SJ-3550 series - High adhesive bonds can be achieved to a variety of surfaces, including paint, metal, and most plastics (except polyethylene or polypropylene). Special performance characteristics include good temperature and humidity cycling from -29° C to +93°C and 0% to 100% relative humidity and good low and high temperature impact resistance at -6° C to 70° C.

SJ-3540 series - Designed for general purpose dynamic and static load applications where temperatures do not exceed 49°C. When applied under normal conditions, high adhesive bonds can be achieved to a wide variety of clean, dry surfaces including difficult surfaces like polyethylene and polypropylene.
